Radiolab Episode Response

Listening to this episode was a very interesting experience. It's a very different experience than just watching something and hearing it and just listening to these sounds and people talking. It almost made it seem a little more immersive for me. One part that was really interesting was the girl talking and then growing up as she talked. I liked how they described it as a "parent-clock." It really shows how time is just constant as how a parent is seeing their child grow up and also realizing that they are growing up as well. Recognizing nature in time was also an interesting point.

Saying that time has different flavors was a great description. I do think the people in this episode are a little silly like the part about being in space I think? I'm not sure I got a little confused... It does seem like people have different senses of time kind of like we were talking about in class. Some people can feel like not doing anything can make time go slow while others may feel the opposite. The basic example is when the one guy says he was running time seemed to go faster than a person standing still. I think it's interesting to think that movement can affect time or the sense of time for people.

The different actions being described by various people and how time is affected was really cool to hear about. It really shows how time is so hard to give a solid definition because it's such a changing idea. I liked the term "a swollen now," it was a good description of how a moment can feel like it lasts forever. Listening to this was a pleasant experience as it really gave a different view on the concept of time. It seemed like a simple thing before but it's actually really complex.
